FREMONT TRIBUN B4 MONDAY. APRIL 13. 1998 Anniversaries Book helps people dealing with loss for the printed material found in each section. On death, Metzgar I covers helpfiil topics such as: What is I How do I say funer als; symptoms of grief; spiritual changes; How long will grief How can I find and How will I know when Ill need special help? Each section ends with practical suggestions for healing. Glenn Mueller Dealing with Grief for you to obtain help, organizations you may join, and national support resources with addresses and telephone numbers.

The bibliography lists references from which the material in this book were obtained. Im sure these references can be found in any major library. Under each book listed, Metzgar has written a sentence or two about the book and in some instances something about the author. I would highly recommend this resource book for anyone who has experienced any kind of lass. Each topic is short and fast reading.

It may be borrowed from the Crysalis Library, compliments of Rozanek and Son Colonial Chapel in Fremont. Sometimes a loss is suddentraumatic.

There may be a suicide. Metzgar has written very helpful ideas to help anyone who has experienced the loss of a loved one by Engagements I A Time to Mourn, A Time to Dance Help for the losses in life. The title of this resource book may be somewhat misleading. Although this book uses the death of a loved one to present understandings in the area of a loss we may have had, it really is a resource book covering other losses such as divorce, loss of a job, loss of good health, loss of a pet, loss of a dear friend when heshe moves away, etc. This book is authored by Margaret Metzgar, who is the founder and primary therapist at the Transition and Loss Center in Seattle.

Metzgar has gathered material from many people who have expressed their feelings at the time of a loss. She also quotes Scripture where applicable. The format is interesting and the colored photographic art is eye-catching and sets the mood Marj Cech Bruce Scheer Maij Cech and Bruce Scheer, both of Columbus, announce their engagement. and Kathy Nesper of Bellflower, Calif. The future bride is a 1995 graduate of Fremont Senior High School and attends Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa. Her fiance is a graduate of Mayfair High School in Lakewood, and a 1997 graduate of Northwestern College in Orange City, where he was vice president of student government, and graduated summa cum laude. He is a financial analyst with Con Agra in Omaha. TVaci Vonderlage Mark Scott Rich and Linda Vonderlage of Omaha, announce the engagement of their daughter, Traci Vonderlage of Fremont, to Mark Scott of Fremont, son of Jack and Cora Snyder of Ames.

The future bride is a 1989 graduate of Arlington High School, a 1994 graduate of Southeast Community College, and a 1998 graduate of Midland Lutheran College, where she was a member of Cardinal Key Honor Society and Alpha Mu Gamma Theta Epsilon Chapter. She is employed by Andys on 1st in Fremont. Her fiance is a 1990 graduate of North Bend High School, attended Wayne State College 1990 to 1991, and graduated Franklin and Evelyn Liston Franklin and Evelyn Liston of Fremont will celebrate their 50th anniversary with an open house and buffet 24 p.m., Sunday at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Hooper. The event will be hosted by their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Franklin Liston and Evelyn Tichota were married April 17, 1948, at Grace Lutheran Church in Hooper.

All friends and relatives are invited. They request no gifts. Bob and Doris Eckerman Bob and Doris Eckerman of Fremont, will celebrate their 50th anniversary with an open house 24 p.m. Saturday at St. Patricks Community Center in Fremont.

The event will be hosted by their eight children: Mel and Kathy Davis of Osage Beach, Roger and Dian Schmiedeskamp of Bolivar, Randall and Marilyn Dawes of Austin, Steven Eckerman of Webb City, J.R (Bob) and Sue Eckerman of Chandler, Jim and Deb Thompson of Ankeny, Iowa, Timothy Eckerman of Omaha, and Jeffrey and Michelle Riepl of Omaha. The couple has 10 grandchildren. Bob Eckerman and Doris Colburn were married April 17, Around Class of 1958 Class of 1958 will meet 7 p.m. Thursday at Kindlers Cafe. They will discuss plans for the 40th reunion scheduled for June 26-28.

All classmates are welcome to attend. Red Cross Volunteers The Red Cross Volunteers of Fremont Area Medical Center had their monthly luncheon meeting at Holiday Lodge. Guest speaker was Ben Harvey, executive director of the Masonic-Eastern Star Childrens Home. The first Childrens Home was opened in 1902 at Plattsmouth. In 1907, the home was moved to a small house on west Fifth Street in Fremont.

The present home was first occupied on Christmas Day in 1915. There were no regulations during the 1930s and the number of children ranged from 80 in 1933 to 51 in 1938. Tbday there are 33 children in the home. Admission has not been determined on the basis of the childs affiliation with a mason since 1968. In the 30s the children raised animals and milked cows on the 4-H farm and the total budget was $28,000.

Tbday the budget is more than $828,000. The range in age of the residents is 14-17 years. They leave when graduating from high school, but scholarships are available to further their education. The biggest influence in their lives is consistency. President Mary L.

There also are hints as to how one can communicate about death and loss with children of all ages.

Mildred Rasmussen of Karl's Jewelry will give a clock for sale for the Altrusa Foundation. The next meeting will be the Altrusa Birthday meeting 6:30 p.m. April 21 at Holiday Lodge. Members are to bring their cards showing the choice of committee to serve for next year. Dues are to be paid by May 31, 1998.

District 67 Reunion The Meyer School reunion of District 67 wall be 12:30 p.m. May 24 at Uehling Park. Those attending are asked to bring a picnic dinner, table service, pictures and memories. Beverages are furnished. The school was located 112 miles of Uehling.
